Hoodoo Spellwork: Shoe Domination
Hey Y’all!!!
Long time… yes yes I know… but annnyywayssssss….
Welcome back, and thank you for spending your time here with me.
If you saw my TikTok post, you know I introduced the idea of walking someone down, and I promised I would come back and go deeper. This is that follow up. I have been sitting with it for a minute because this is not a working I take lightly, and I do not want anyone reading this to take it lightly either.
Before I go further, let me be clear about something. I practice hoodoo, and that is the lens I am writing from because it is my lived practice. But walking work, working the feet, using footprints and steps as a vehicle for intention, this shows up across multiple spiritual traditions and magic practices around the world, not just hoodoo. I am not going to sit here and claim ownership over something that many traditions have carried in their own ways for a very long time. So I cannot confirm or deny that what I am sharing belongs exclusively to hoodoo, and I would encourage you to do your own research beyond this post too. I protect my practice, and I also respect that knowledge like this rarely lives in just one house.
With that said, let's talk about it!!!
Right Foot, Left Foot, Both Feet, You da Judge!
In my personal practice and beliefs , the feet carry very different intentions, and I think a lot of newer practitioners rush past this part because they just want the how. I am not going to let you skip it.
The right foot is about control. When you work the right foot, you are stepping into the situation and the energy around it and taking the wheel. You are not asking permission anymore. You are walking that person, that circumstance, that entire dynamic in the direction you need it to go. This is the foot for people who want to shift a situation without necessarily ending it. Maybe you need someone to back off. Maybe you need to redirect a pattern that keeps repeating. The right foot says I am in charge here now, and you will move the way I need you to move.
The left foot is about destruction. This is not subtle work and I am not going to pretend it is. When you walk the left foot, you are working toward an ending. You are working to break something down so it cannot reform the way it was. This foot is not for mild annoyances or petty situations. This is for when something needs to be dismantled, full stop.
Now here is where I will be honest with you about my own practice, because I believe in transparency with the people who follow my work. I walk both feet. Cause…. period.. lol . I am a Sag, Ima beat that dead horse…
I am not here to gently redirect. I am here to wreck what needs wrecking. But I am not telling you that so you copy me without thinking. I am telling you that so you understand this is a personal choice rooted in intention, and your intention might look different from mine, and that is not just okay, that is how it should be. This work is not one size fits all. Sit with what you actually need before you decide which foot, or both, belongs to your working.
Intention is the sharpest tool in this practice. Sharper than any root, any oil, any grave dirt you will ever collect. If your intention is muddy, your working will be muddy. Know exactly what you are calling in before you take a single step.
When People Turn to This Work
I get asked often when a working like this actually applies, so let me speak to that broadly. This is the kind of work people reach for when someone has caused real, lasting harm and gentler approaches have already been tried or clearly will not be enough. Betrayal that cut deep. Someone actively working against your peace or your family's wellbeing. A situation that keeps repeating no matter how many times you have tried to address it directly. Someone who has shown you, plainly, that they intend to keep causing harm if left unchecked.
This is not for mild irritations, workplace gossip, or someone who simply is not your cup of tea. This is reserved for situations where real damage has been done and real boundaries have been crossed. If you are not sure your situation rises to that level, sit with it longer before you walk.
Before I Say Another Word: My Boundaries
I do not do this work casually and I do not do it on a whim. This is reserved for people who have genuinely wronged me or wronged my family. I am not walking down someone because they annoyed me on a Tuesday. This is for real harm, real betrayal, real disrespect that crossed a real line.
And before I ever step into this work, I cleanse and protect myself and my home. Every single time. Before and after. This is non negotiable in my practice and it should be non negotiable in yours. You do not go to war without armor, and you do not walk away from war without washing the battlefield off of you. Protect your peace, protect your household, protect your energy on both ends of this working. Anyone teaching this practice without teaching that piece is doing you a disservice.
The Shoes
The shoes I use for this work are not the shoes sitting pretty in my closet. They stay outside my home. Always. My walking and hiking shoes are the ones I dedicate to this practice, and there is a reason for that beyond convenience.
These shoes have already carried me through graveyards. They have already carried me across open farmland. They already know the kind of ground this work requires, and they are already marked by that ground. I am not breaking in a fresh pair for this. I am using shoes that understand the terrain, spiritually and literally, because they have been there with me before.
Keeping them outside the home matters too. Whatever you are stepping into during this work, you do not want tracking back through your front door and settling into your living space. These shoes live outside for a reason, and after a working, they stay outside for that same reason. Now, do you need to go to that extent??? No, These are just things that I personally choose to do, and how I choose to do handle these things .
The Steps
Here is the walking itself, laid out plainly, because you came here for the how and I am not going to dance around it.
First, get grounded and clear before you even put the shoes on. This is not a working you rush into between errands. Sit with your intention. Know without a doubt whether you are walking the right foot for control, the left foot for destruction, or both feet because you are here to handle business completely. Say it out loud if that helps you lock it in. Write it down if that helps you lock it in. However you need to anchor that intention, do it before you move another inch.
Second, put on the dedicated shoes. The ones that live outside. The ones that already carry the memory of graveyards and open land. As you lace them or slide them on, speak your intention again. This is the moment you are committing your feet to the purpose of this working.
Third, begin walking with full awareness of which foot is carrying which intention. If you are working the right foot, feel that foot as the one taking control, the one redirecting the energy, the one saying this situation now moves the way I say it moves. If you are working the left foot, feel that foot as the one breaking down what needs to end, the one closing a door for good. If you are walking both, let each foot do its own distinct job with every single step. Do not let your mind wander here. Every step is intentional. Every step is speaking.
Fourth, walk with the person or situation held clearly in your mind the entire time. See them. Feel the situation you are addressing. You are not walking blindly, you are walking them, specifically, deliberately, with full focus on what needs to shift or end.
Fifth, when you feel the working is complete, and you will feel it, there is a shift in the energy that tells you, close it out. Speak a closing statement. Something as simple and direct as this work is done, so it is, works. Do not linger in the energy longer than the working calls for.
Sixth, remove the shoes and leave them outside, exactly where they belong. Do not bring them across your threshold.
Seventh, cleanse yourself immediately. A spiritual bath, a wash down, whatever your personal cleansing practice looks like, do it now, not later. You just carried heavy, deliberate energy through your body and you do not want to sit in that residue.
Eighth, protect your home. Whatever your household protection practice is, whether that is a wash on your doorstep, incense through the rooms, a protective working you already keep active, reinforce it after this. You are not just protecting yourself, you are protecting everyone under your roof. Protection is always … ALWAYS important.
What This Working Actually Does
Walking someone down is not a wish, it is a directive. You are physically and spiritually embodying your intention through movement, and movement is powerful because it is action, not just thought. When you walk the right foot, you are asserting control over a situation that has felt out of your hands, redirecting the energy and the outcome toward what you actually need. When you walk the left foot, you are actively working toward the dismantling of something, whether that is a person's influence, a situation's grip on your life, or a pattern that needed to be permanently broken.
This is not passive protection work. This is you stepping directly into the situation and moving it with your own two feet. That is the power of it, and that is also why the boundaries matter so much. You are not asking the universe to handle it quietly in the background. You are handling it, deliberately, with full ownership of what you are doing and why.
I do this work because I protect what is mine, and I do not apologize for that. But I also do it responsibly, with cleansing before and after, with clear boundaries about who this work is for, and with full awareness that intention is what separates a powerful working from a reckless one.
Walk with purpose. Walk with protection. And always, always know exactly why you are walking. :)
Until Next time ….
Love and Hugs
