Hoodoo Heritage: The Bible and Hoodoo

Hoodoo was born from the strength and wisdom of enslaved Africans who took a book used to justify their suffering and turned it into a source of protection, healing, justice, and liberation. In this post I walk you through the history of the Bible in Hoodoo, why Moses was honored as the greatest conjure man, and how you can bring the Bible into your own practice through Psalms, prayer, bibliomancy, and sacred objects on your altar.

July 2026 is not a regular month. The planetary lineup right now is stacked in a way that does not come together often, and understanding what each piece is doing gives you a real advantage moving through it. We begin in the soft emotional depths of Cancer season and shift into the bold heart led fire of Leo season around the 22nd. Jupiter is freshly settled in Leo and it is amplifying everything it touches. Saturn and Neptune are both in Aries doing slow, serious, spiritual work beneath the surface. Uranus in Gemini is stirring up our minds and our messages. Pluto retrograde in Aquarius is doing deep collective reckoning. And two powerful lunations, a New Moon in Cancer and a Full Moon in Aquarius, are bookending the month with turning points that matter.
