The Harvest Moon in Aries: Honor the Fire, Check the Story 🌕🔥
Hello my loves, and welcome back to MoonLit Thoughts.
Thank you so so much for being here!
Tomorrow, Saturday, September 26, the Moon reaches her fullest in the bold, fiery sign of Aries at 3°37, lighting up the sky at 12:49 PM Eastern time. This is our Harvest Moon, the first Full Moon since the Autumn Equinox, and let me tell you, she did not come quietly.
Now I know what a lot of people are going to say about this one. Aries Full Moon, time to be bold, stop compromising, speak your truth, burn it all down. And yes, there is fire here. But when I sat with this chart, the message I kept getting was a little more layered than that. This Full Moon is asking us to honor our feelings completely while also being honest about the story we are telling ourselves about those feelings. Those are two different things, and this Moon wants us to know the difference.
So grab your drink of choice… light a candle, and let's walk through what the sky is doing and what it means for all of us.🐝
Aries and Libra: Me, You, and Us
Every Full Moon is an opposition between the Sun and the Moon, and this one stretches across the Aries and Libra axis. That is the axis of self and other.
The Moon in Aries is pure instinct. She is the first sign of the zodiac, the spark, the I AM. She wants what she wants and she wants it now. She doesn't wait for permission and she doesn't ask the group chat for their opinion first.
The Sun in Libra sits directly across from her, holding the scales. Libra is about fairness, partnership, compromise, and how our choices land on the people around us.
When these two face each other, we feel the pull between taking care of ourselves and keeping the peace. And I want to be really clear here, because I see so many of you living on one end of this axis. Some of us have been keeping the peace so long we forgot we had a voice. Others have been so busy protecting ourselves that nobody can get close. Neither extreme is healing. This Moon is asking where you have abandoned yourself to keep others comfortable, and where you have shut others out to avoid being hurt. And honestly… this has been an ongoing feeling/ vibe since almost the beginning of 2026, and will continue on. This isn’t something that should be avoided but taken on with strength, courage and readiness.
The Moon Conjunct Neptune: The Feeling Is Real, but Check the Story
This is the heart of this Full Moon, and it's the part I most want you to hear.
The Moon is sitting almost directly on top of Neptune at 2°59 Aries. Neptune is the planet of dreams, intuition, spirituality, compassion, and illusion. When Neptune touches the Moon, our emotions get louder and our psychic sensitivity opens way up. You may find yourself crying at commercials, dreaming vividly, picking up on everyone's energy, or feeling a sudden calling toward something new.
That is beautiful. It's also slippery.
Neptune softens boundaries and fogs up the details. So a feeling might hit you with total urgency. I have to leave. I have to tell them. I have to text him right now. I'm finally ready to change everything. And the feeling itself may be completely valid, but the reason you have attached to it might not be the full truth.
So here's my guidance. Honor the feeling fully. Don't argue with it and don't shame yourself for it. Then get quiet and ask yourself what you actually know versus what you have assumed. What did this person actually say or do? Is this desire consistent, or did it show up right after I felt hurt or rejected?
That isn't doubting your intuition, baby. That is protecting it. Period!!! Real intuition is calm and steady. Fear and wounding are loud and rushing. Under this Moon, they can sound a lot alike.
And please, sleep on the text. Neptune has inspired some of the most beautiful art in history and also some of the most regrettable 2 AM messages ever sent. 😅 Keep them Journals close!
Saturn in the Background: Owning Our Choices
Saturn is also in Aries, stationed retrograde at 11°55. It isn't sitting right on the Moon, but it's in the same room keeping watch.
Saturn in Aries has been teaching the whole collective this year about mature courage. Not reckless courage, not anger for the sake of anger, but the kind of courage that says I made this choice and I will stand behind the outcome. With Saturn retrograde, we are reviewing where we acted too fast or held back too long. Whatever you decide under this Full Moon, make it a choice you can own tomorrow.
The Kite Pattern: Your Way Through the Fog
Here's where things get hopeful, my loves.
The Libra Sun forms a trine to Uranus at 5°35 Gemini and to Pluto at 3°09 Aquarius, and those two are trining each other. The Moon and Neptune form sextiles to both. Together this creates a shape astrologers call a kite, and it gives all this Full Moon pressure a supportive place to flow.
All three of those supporting planets sit in air signs, which tells me the breakthrough comes through the mind and through communication. Uranus in Gemini is shaking loose old thinking and bringing in fresh information. Pluto in Aquarius is asking who holds the power in your relationships, your family, your job, and your community, and whether that arrangement still serves everyone. Pluto is also slowing down to station direct in mid October, so power dynamics that have been stuck are getting ready to move.
What this means for us is simple. The answer may not come as some big emotional explosion. It might come as a new sentence. A better question. One honest conversation. A new piece of information that changes how you see everything. A refusal to keep playing along with something that isn't true for you anymore.
And one gentle reminder. If you have already explained yourself six times and they still aren't getting it, the problem is not your wording. Sometimes the breakthrough is realizing you are done explaining.
Mars at 29° Cancer: What Are You Really Protecting?
Mars rules Aries, so to understand this Full Moon we have to look at where Mars is sitting. And right now, Mars is at 29°10 Cancer, the very last degree of the sign, getting ready to move into Leo this weekend.
Mars in Cancer is the warrior protecting the home. It fights hard for family, safety, and the people it loves, but it can also get defensive, moody, or hold on to hurt instead of saying it directly. At the last degree, there's a sense of finishing up old emotional business around home, family, and the younger version of you who had to figure things out alone.
The Moon is sitting in Mars's sign, and Mars is sitting in the Moon's sign. They are trading places, which means our feelings and our actions are deeply tied together right now. What looks like anger might actually be grief. What looks like control might actually be fear of losing someone. What looks like caretaking might be a way of avoiding our own needs.
Mars is also squaring Mercury at 24°48 Libra and making an almost exact square to Chiron at 29°40 Aries. Old wounds around being heard, being dismissed, or being told we were too much may get tender. Words may come out sharper than we intended. So before you act, ask yourself this one question: what am I actually trying to protect right now?
That question will tell you more than asking what you want.
Once Mars enters Leo this weekend and joins Jupiter at 18°49 Leo, the energy shifts toward confidence, creativity, and heart led action. So if you feel stuck or heavy today, know that a warmer, braver wind is right around the corner.
Chiron Back in Aries: The Right to Take Up Space
Chiron, the wounded healer, has moved back into Aries at 29° for one last visit before returning to Taurus later. Chiron in Aries touches our deepest wounds around identity, anger, independence, and our right to exist exactly as we are.
You may notice old memories surfacing. Times you were ignored. Times you were punished for saying no. Times you were told you wanted too much. You may also notice the armor you built to survive those moments, like never asking for help, always being the strong one, or fighting every battle alone.
Healing here doesn't always mean getting softer. Sometimes it means getting clearer. Sometimes it means asking directly for what you need and trusting that you will survive if the answer is no.
Venus Slowing in Scorpio: Revelation Is Not Resolution
Venus is at 7°41 Scorpio and slowing down to station retrograde on October 3. That means love, money, self worth, intimacy, and trust are all about to go under review for the next several weeks.
Venus is also forming a tense angle to Uranus in Gemini and to the Moon and Neptune in Aries, which can bring up sudden truths, unexpected feelings, or the need to adjust a relationship or financial agreement.
My honest guidance here is this. Don't rush to a final decision just to make the discomfort stop. This Full Moon may reveal something, but Venus retrograde will take weeks to show you what it truly means. Pay attention to what or who is coming back around, where you feel drained, and where love and power have gotten tangled. And remember, Mercury goes retrograde on October 24 too, so the review season is just getting started.
Collective Guidance for This Full Moon
When I pull all of this together, here's what I feel the collective is being called into. Like I said… and many of you know… theres a lot to unpack with this… so take your time with yourself and all the energy and space around you.
We are being asked to stop choosing between ourselves and our relationships and start finding the balance. We are being asked to feel everything without letting every feeling drive the car. We are being asked to look at what we're protecting, what we're still carrying from the past, and what agreements need to be rewritten instead of torn apart.
This is a harvest, my loves. Look at what you planted back in the spring, especially around April, when the New Moon in Aries opened this cycle. What grew? What didn't make it? What are you ready to gather up and be proud of, and what needs to go back into the earth?
Before you send it, leave it, start it, confess it, buy it, or promise it, walk yourself through this:
Name the feeling in one simple sentence with no blame and no spiritual language attached. Write down what you know for sure, then write down what you have assumed. Ask what this action is protecting. Ask if your approach is fair to everyone involved, including you. Then take the first step that you can still adjust if you learn something new. You don't need perfect certainty to take one honest step forward.

Journal prompt: Where have I undervalued my time, energy, or gifts, and what am I ready to claim?
Mantra: I am worthy of abundance and I receive it with an open heart.
Final Thoughts
My loves, this Harvest Moon isn't asking you to have it all figured out. Literally, at all… It's asking you to feel honestly, think clearly, and take one brave step you can stand behind. Trust your fire, but give it a steady hand to guide it. Listen to your intuition, then check the receipts. 😉
Take care of your energy this weekend, drink your water, get outside under that beautiful Moon if you can, and be gentle with yourself and each other.
